PATIENT CARE TECH - MILLVILLE

Job Description:
Summary:
Under direct supervision, performs all duties related to registering patients, scheduling appointments, performs various duties assisting providers and nurses in the treatment and care of patients.
Responsibilities: Interviews patient/patient representatives to obtain demographic and insurance information necessary for patient safety, customer service, quality of care and fiscal responsibility in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including appropriate patient identifiers.
Performs check-out process with attention to detail, accepts co-payment and accurately completes cash out procedure.
Inputs patient registration information into computer system and verifies accuracy of data entered.
Prepares required forms for signature by patient or patient representative and ensures that each is explained and presented.
Reviews/Reconciles billing by documenting all work in collector module in physician billing system.
Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Demonstrates proper technique when operating all equipment.
Consistently demonstrates safe and accurate technical skills, including accurate assessments and complying with provider instructions.
Demonstrates competency in the performance of all procedures routinely performed at the walk-in, providing quality care.
Handles specimens using proper technique.
Correctly labels and processes specimens.
Insures proper preparation of specimens for lab courier for transport to Lab.
Conscious of biohazard safety as it relates to the job, including ensuring equipment/furniture are appropriately cleaned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Following Infection Control Protocols: Ensure reception and work area are appropriately cleaned.
Location: Millville Shift : Flexible-hours/shifts may vary depending on department needs FTE: 0.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
